Our Care Suites

A Care Suite combines the comfort and privacy of your own space with the reassurance of personalised care, giving you a place that feels like home while having the support you need close at hand.

At Green Gables, our Care Suites offer both Rest Home and Hospital level care, provided by an experienced team who take the time to get to know you, your routines and the things that matter to you.

You can bring your own furniture and treasured belongings too, making the space familiar and truly your own.

For privately funded care, a Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora assessment is not required.

Types of homes

Care Suites

Choose from a studio Care Suite with open-plan living, or a one-bedroom Care Suite with a separate bedroom and living area.

Each Care Suite includes a private ensuite, kitchenette with fridge and kettle, and heat pump, with selected suites also featuring a private balcony or patio. There’s space for your own furniture and treasured belongings too, so you can make it feel like home.

Couples Care Suites

Our spacious one-bedroom Couple Care Suites are designed so you can continue living together while each receiving the personalised care you need.

Each suite features a separate bedroom and living area, private ensuite and kitchenette, with plenty of space for your own furniture and treasured belongings to make it feel like home.

Rest Home Care

If the level of support you need is more than you’re able to get at home, then we’re here to help. Our helpful team can assist with all your daily needs, including getting you ready for the day, preparing and cooking all your meals and helping you do the things you love, so you and your family can rest assured that you’re well supported, every day.

Hospital Care

If your care needs include more complex medical or mobility concerns, then our experienced team can provide full Hospital level care suited to you. Our personalised approach ensures that what you need and want is at the centre of every decision.

Palliative and End-of-Life Care

Our caring team is trained to provide the highest quality Palliative and End-of-Life Care, taking a holistic approach to your needs and wishes. We not only ensure that you are as physically comfortable as possible, but we also look at your spiritual and cultural needs, as well as those of the friends and family supporting you.

Tailored to you

We know that no one is more of an expert in what you need than you, so together with you and your family, our team of highly skilled Registered Nurses take the time to develop Personalised Care Plans. These detailed plans include your likes and dislikes across 18 key aspects, from medical history and risk of falls to family relationships, culture, and spirituality. Updated every six months, they enable us to get to know you and provide the highest quality aged care experience suited to you.

Food is vital for good nutrition, but it’s also one of life’s great joys. Led by a team of skilled chefs, every meal is carefully-considered to ensure taste and nutrition are balanced equally. We look to culinary trends and your personal preferences to refine and update our menus every six months, keeping them up to date with what’s in season and on-trend, ensuring that dining at Green Gables is always something to be savoured.

At Oceania, wellbeing is holistic and person-centred, shaped by lifestyle, connection, culture, creativity, movement and individual choice. Guided by the Five Ways to Wellbeing, our teams create meaningful, uplifting experiences each month. From walking together to raise funds for mental health through initiatives like Step Together, Better Together, to taking part in the New Zealand Garden Bird Survey and contributing to conservation research, residents are supported to connect, be active, take notice, keep learning and give back in ways that feel purposeful and rewarding.

Five Ways to Wellbeing

The Five Ways to Wellbeing are based on research showing that small, everyday actions can have a powerful impact on how we feel. At Oceania, this framework helps shape the experiences we create across our villages and care centres, supporting residents to live well in ways that feel natural and meaningful.

The Five Ways are:

Connect – Building relationships, sharing stories and spending time with friends, neighbours and family.

Be Active – Moving in ways that suit your body and ability, supporting strength, balance and mood.

Take Notice – Slowing down to appreciate the moment, whether that’s a garden in bloom or a shared laugh.
