Dementia Care - Now Open

At Meadowbank Village we are proud to offer holistic person-centred Dementia care in our brand-new purpose built Ōrākei building.

Residents will enjoy our integrated enriched model of care which has been designed to provide the best possible care for residents and their families. This approach promotes dignity, autonomy, and quality of life for people living with dementia.

Daily support will be overseen by a registered nurse and provided by care partners. Unlike traditional aged care staffing, care partners will support with all aspects of residents’ daily needs.

Our approach focuses on understanding each individual, their relationships, and what gives them purpose and aims to meet the essential psychological needs of people living with dementia.

Care Suites

Care Suites provide both Rest Home and Hospital level care, which means you can relax knowing you won’t have the upheaval of moving again if your needs increase. Choose from either a studio Care Suite with an open-plan bedroom and lounge, or a one-bedroom Care Suite with a separate bedroom and living area. Some Care Suites are large enough to accommodate couples, so you can be together – even if one of you requires Hospital level care.

All Care Suites have a heat pump and full en-suite bathroom, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge and a kettle – perfect for making a cuppa when friends and family come to visit. We also have options with private balconies and/or patios.

You own the right to occupy your Care Suite, so you can personalise it with your favourite furniture and treasured pieces. A Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora assessment is not required for care that is paid for privately.

Couples Care Suites

A Couples Care Suite offers the same assistance and comfort as an individual suite, but with the reassurance of having a loved one right by your side.

With a more spacious layout, Couples Care Suites are designed to keep you together; offering Rest Home and Hospital level care to suit both of your ongoing individual needs*.

With your one-bedroom suite, you’ll enjoy a private ensuite, separate living area and very own kitchenette. But feel free to bring along your own home comforts to really make the space your own.

*Specialist dementia care (secure dementia care or psychogeriatric care) is not available in a Couples Care Suite.
